Sky has announced that ‘Sky Go’, the critically acclaimed app available for iPhone, iPod and iPad is coming to Android devices late February. It’s a late Christmas present for Android smartphone users who have waited patiently for over a year since the original debuted on the App Store.

Head of Sky Go Holly Knill said “We know how much Android users have been looking forward to the launch of Sky Go on Android smartphones, and we’ve done everything we can to make sure that our bespoke design is worth waiting for”.

It’s not all good news as the app will only be available to a small number of devices. The Samsung Galaxy S and SII are included along with HTC’s Incredible S, Sensation and Desire range. There was no official word on whether they intend to support other devices but freelance hackers are already licking their lips at the thought of disassembling the app to help extend functionality to other devices.

Sky released several announcements in 2011 stating the Android Sky Go app was almost complete. Despite claiming the app would be released over the Christmas period, it never made it to the Android Market. In December 2011, a representative of Sky claimed the delay was caused by ‘fragmentation of the Android OS’ and the numerous device configurations.

In Samsung’s ongoing ad campaign to poke fun at Apple fanboys, they decided to break out of the subtle little jabs and went all out for their Super Bowl ad which features the Galaxy Note.

It starts off in the same manner as the other commercials did, only this time, those in line are visibly frustrated and break out in a song and dance routine with a rock star who literally drops out of nowhere. It has to be seen to be believed.

No we’re not here to compare a frozen dessert and a tropical fruit. Pocketnow has put together this interesting video comparing the browsers running on a Samsung Galaxy Nexus with Android 4.0 and a Nokia Lumia 710 with Windows Phone 7. Now you might think this is not fair to compare a high end device with a more mid-level phone but you may be surpriised. Check out the video after the break.

Since from it’s launch that many people have been reporting connectivity problems on the Asus Transformer Prime, specially regarding GPS but also on the Wifi. The site Mobile TechReview has figured out a way to fix this issue.

It seems that the GPS and Wifi antennas, located on the top of the tablet, are not making contact with some pins, leading to bad signal reception. With the help of some images from AnandTech, that had made a teardown of the Prime, you can get a better idea what might be happening.

Here are the antennas that are located on the top of the tablet:

And these are the are the pins that should be on contact with the antennas:

What seems to happen is that some of the AsusTransformer Prime come from factory not very well assembled and the pins are not in contact with the antennas. The work around found by Mobile TechReview is to make a slight pressure on the spots where the antennas are located to force the pins to be in contact. You can have a better idea by watching the video that they kindly made.

I hope this can help those users who are facing connectivity problems on their tablets and thanks to Mobile TechReview for this finding.

The new Samsung Galaxy Note has been attracting a lot of attention since he came out. Criticized by some, applauded by others for his huge 5.3″ Super AMOLED HD display (800x1280), this phone also have some impressive specs like his 1.4 GHz dual-core Exynos CPU, his 8 Mpixel Camera and the 2 Mpixel front-camera or the great 2.500 mAh battery. The truth is that no one seems to be indifferent to it. Now phonedog has made an extensive review of this phone that might help you to make your own decision, so check it out after the break.
