
Nokia this week launched the Nokia E6 and the Nokia X7 to add to their already existing range of symbian^3 devices the N8, E7, C7 and C6 to bring the total to six. The new device E6 adds to the E-Enterprise Business range made popular by the E71 and latterly the E72. The X7 compliments the line-up of the X-Music Media devices.
The X7 is a 4″ AMOLED music-media centric device and from the rear looks similar to the C6 in that it has a curvature to the back of the handset to add to the design asthetics. Above you can see the slot for the sim card and memory card. The camera is 8 megapixel with a dual-led flash. In preparation for the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, the Xperia Launch Party was held on 31 March 2011. After a false start, with booing and calls for ‘down with the dj’ after he inadvertently welcomed everyone to the ‘Nokia’ event, invited guests, press and competition winners made the night truly special.
The featured entertainer of the night was the rapper Tinchy Stryder. The Xperia Play launches with 60 games in the first week, 6 of these are PlayStation 1 games.

Nokia’s credit rating was slashed for the first time by Standard & Poor’s Ratings Service, which cut the debt rating based on projections of declining market share and weaker operating margins. The ratings service indicated in early February that it might cut Nokia’s rating. S&P said it lowered Nokia’s long-term rating to “A-” with a stable outlook. Nokia had maintained an “A” credit rating with the S&P, the sixth-highest of 10 ratings, since 1998.

Nokia has filed a further complaint with the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) alleging that Apple infringes additional Nokia patents in virtually all of its mobile phones, portable music players, tablets and computers. The seven Nokia patents in the new complaint relate to Nokia’s pioneering innovations that are now being used by Apple to create key features in its products in the areas of multi-tasking operating systems, data synchronization, positioning, call quality and the use of Bluetooth accessories.
