Toshiba TG01 unboxing and hands on (Orange)

The folks at SlashGear unboxes and takes a look at the Toshiba TG01. The Toshiba TG01 features a huge 4.1-inch WVGA 800 x 480 pixel resistive touchscreen. While running on Windows Mobile 6.1, it has personalized interface that can also be controlled by shaking. Other features include 3G HSPA support, Wi-Fi, and A-GPS. It will be the first phone running on Qualcomm’s 1GHz Snapdragon chip. The TG01 will have a virtual track pad for web navigation and its Internet Explorer will come with Flash.

Noah over at PhoneDog published this video hands-on of the Palm Pre that you guys should take a look at! Palm Pre is the first phone to run on the new Web OS, designed to be powerful but easy to use. The Pre features a 3.1″ multi-touch screen and a sliding full QWERTY keyboard. It is a CDMA/EV-DO smart phone with Wi-Fi, GPS, 3-megapixel camera with flash, stereo Bluetooth, microUSB, and 8GB of internal memory.

Heres a video of the classic game Doom running on the Palm Pre.

I’ve gotten PRDoom running on the device. PRDoom is an open source doom clone that uses SDL for its rendering backend. The Palm Pre’s GUI, Luna, utilizes a framebuffer. The SDL backend we used was directfb.

Opera Mini: Server Upgrade to 4.10.404

The Mini server team released a new version of the Opera Mini server today. The highlights of this release include:

* fixes for font sizes on some sites
* optimization of bitmap fonts on low-memory phones
* faster JavaScript dialogs
* some download fixes
* fixes for lots of “clicking just reloads” problems
* improved the layout of feeds in mobile view
* site-specific fixes

As usual, there is no need to make any manual changes to benefit from a server upgrade.
