London, 5th April 2012 and Sony’s Night of Imagination kicked off the spectacular Xperia event.

The event showcased superstar Labrinth’s debut album, Electronic Earth.

The audience were treated to a spectacular event, including an exclusive set from Electornic Search with surprise guests iLuminate. illuminate captured the imagination of the world on America’s Got Talent.

The audience watched as the imaginative world of Sony xperia collided with one of Sony Music’s most talented and creative artists.

To celebrate the launch of its HTC One series, a TV commercial will feature a fashion shoot from the skies. A first in the world, watch as a free fall fashion shoot comments. The campaign will kick-off on 5th April and will showcase the performance and capabilities of the HTC One smartphones and its camera.

An amateur photograph, new to sky-diving was given a HTC One device to capture the event whilst free falling at 126mph.

The filming was done on location in Arizona, at dusk and dawn, bringing to life the video and photo capture showing the new innovative functions and features in the HTC One X and HTC One S, including instant image capture, auto focus, burst mode and backlight HDR technology.

HTC STAGES THE WORLD’S FIRST FREE FALL FASHION SHOOT CAPTURED ON  A MOBILE HANDSET

- Campaign features model and champion skydiver Roberta Mancino, LA Times Stylist Hayley Atkins and Hollywood Costume Designer Martin Izquierdo -

To launch its new HTC One™ series, HTC, a leading global designer of smartphones, has put a consumer at the heart of its’ latest TV commercial by challenging one to capture the world’s first free fall fashion shoot on a mobile phone. The campaign, which kicks off in the UK on 5^th April, is designed to push the boundaries of performance for the mobile handset and its camera capabilities by demonstrating that it is possible to capture great shots whatever the environment.

HTC Fan Snap Up Main Role in Shoot

To really bring the shoot to life, HTC challenged Nick Jojola, an amateur photographer, who had never skydived before to capture high production fashion imagery on the HTC One handsets whilst freefalling at 126mph. This not only delivered an unforgettable personal experience but it also created an amazing real-world product demonstration.

Filmed on location in Arizona, by skydiving cinematographer Norman Kent, the shoot features world champion skydiver and model, Roberta Mancino. Shot at dusk and dawn this complex and demanding advertising creative is designed to bring to life the simultaneous video and photo capture functionality and instant capture capabilities of the new HTC One™ handsets. Both the HTC One™ X and HTC One™ S challenge traditional digital compact cameras by delivering a range of features including high quality images even in low light conditions, instant image capture, auto focus, burst mode and backlight HDR technology and the ability to take stills from already shot HD video footage that operate effectively in both normal and adverse conditions.

The dive

This adrenalin-filled shoot, which took place over 35 jumps, featured a team of nine skydivers including our amateur photographer, who had never done any commercial photography before, let alone a free fall sky dive! The dive team also included key members of a high fashion photography crew such as lighting experts, mid-air make-up artists and divers carrying smoke machines to create that all important ‘hero shot’ 12,000ft above the ground.

The fashion

This sophisticated creative was styled by LA Times Stylist Hayley Atkin, who dressed Roberta in a Martin Izquierdo creation (renowned for a number of Hollywood costumes including the latest Spiderman outfit). In this instance, Izquierdo created a futuristic mirrored bodysuit, featuring 75 individual pieces of plexi glass, and a beautiful jacket with hundreds of oil slick coq feathers individually hand sewn to withstand extreme wind conditions. The outfit was completed with a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti heelless shoes. Hair and make-up stylist, Adam Breuchaud, was responsible for creating a look which could survive a 12,000ft fall at 126mph, which he achieved with a swept back ponytail, with dramatically dark eyes and nude lips.

The creative was developed by global ad agency Mother, and directed by Sara Dunlop of Rattling Stick Productions.

April 4th will be a date to mark in your calendar as Sony Xperia in collaboration with superstar Labrinth launches his debut album, Earth at A Night of Imagination.

Sony’x Xperia range has enticed consumers and the industry alike with its range of new smartphones.

The Xperia S stood as the first device to come out of the new brand name Sony. Late last year, Sony had parted ways with Ericsson, leaving behind the Sony Ericsson brand and took on the sole identity of Sony. The first device out of the new sole partnership was the Xperia S.

During Mobile World Congress 2012, a range of new Sony smartphones were added to the NXT Xperia range including the Xperia U, Xperia P and the Xperia S.

In recognition of the Xperia range, sony will be launching a new advertisement campaign. The new campaign will emphasise Sony’s return to the smartphone market and its new innovations with Sony’s entertainment experiences through the Xperia smartphones.

‘Made of Imaginaton’ as part of the new campaign will start-of with a Saturday 60-second commercial. It is directed by Academy Award nominee, Wes Anderson. This introduces the first in a phase of ‘Made of Imagination’ campaign deployed across TV, digital, print, out-of-home and retail. The campaign will roll out during the course of 2012.

Wes Anderson focussed on the imaginations of children for inspiration in the making of the TV commercial, with input from the thoughts of an 8 year old boy and the team of animators, designers and puppeteers.

London, 19^th March 2012 - This week sees the launch of a global advertising campaign to introduce consumers to the first Xperia™ smartphones from Sony. The expansive brand advertising campaign from Sony Mobile Communications marks Sony’s return to the smartphone market and emphasizes Sony’s connected entertainment experiences brought to life by Xperia smartphones. 

The campaign – ‘Made of Imagination’ – kicks off on Saturday night with a 60-second commercial, directed by Academy Award® nominee, Wes Anderson. This is the first phase of the Made of Imagination campaign, which will be deployed across TV, print, digital, out-of-home and retail, and will roll out over the course of 2012.

Director Wes Anderson turned to the imaginations of children as inspiration for the TV commercial and the script is based verbatim on the thoughts of an 8 year old boy. He was assisted by a team of animators, set designers and puppeteers. The advert, which uses the same stop motion animation techniques made famous in blockbusters such as “Coraline” and “Fantastic Mr. Fox”, brings the boy’s vision of how Xperia smartphones work to life. The print campaign reflects Sony’s connected entertainment experiences that enable consumers to Play, Watch, Listen, Create. Each concept is brought to life with unique imagery and real life models that were hand built to demonstrate what is inside the smartphone. For example, for the ‘Listen’ concept the creative is a picture of guitar shaped like an Xperia smartphone.  Sony Mobile Communications engaged the talents of renowned photographer Carl Kleiner to capture the images. 

Sony Mobile Communications recently introduced Xperia™ U and Xperia™ P that join the flagshipXperia™ S in the NXT series. These new Xperia smartphones combine stand-out design and superior entertainment technology with the powerful performance consumers would expect from a Sony smartphone. The Xperia NXT series also provides access to Sony Entertainment Network*, a portal for consumers to access premium entertainment such as music, movies, TV shows and more, all from one convenient account.

The print advertising campaign is currently making its debut across European markets and will be rolled out globally.

The winning entrants were recognised under Sony’s wider Xperia range, the Xperia Ray, Mix Walkman and Xperia mini pro. The Xperia active picked up the prestigious gold aware. The 14th February is, if you do not know it, Valentine’s Day and it is just around the corner. But our Finnish neighbours treat Valentine’s Day a little bit different. It is about friendship. Valentine’s Day in Finland is referred to as “Ystavanpaiva”, which means ‘Friend’s Day’.

This year, let us celebrate Ystavanpaiva together by remembering our friends, family member or a fellow Nokia community member that you really appreciate. Here is my story below:

I am regularly in touch with my immediately family, mainly my brother and my sister. My sister and I have an unspoken bond that every 4-6 weeks we need and must see one another. My sister is the baby of the family and I am the eldest but we each take responsibility for the other. My brother and I keep in touch regularly, but I see him less frequently – with his nine children, there is little time for idle chit-chat with one’s sister. The rest of my family I see less frequently, generally around my break time from university so it appears to be every quarter.

However, a one day hospital operation last year, went very wrong with my waking up connecting to all sorts of contraptions and involving an extended stay in hospital on what should have been a three hour appointment. When I came home, my family rallied around. I cannot think of anyone who was not there for me. I was visited everyday, dinner was cooked, I was truly taken care of. Make no mistake, when you find yourself in the position I was in, it made all the difference. My mother is overseas but the family more than made up for her absence. I was left wanting for nothing. Therefore, I cannot choose one special person as my Finnish Valentine, my choice is a group of people and they are called my family. Ystavanpaiva! Happy Friend’s Day.

Angry Birds the renowned popular game brings a new delight to the game. The story remains centred on the Bad Piggies that have stolen the Angry Birds eggs but the game has been transported into the delights of a cookbook.

Rovio, a global leader in mobile communications in cooperation with Nokia, hosted an Angry Bird’s evening to mark the launch of the new cookbook. During the evening we were offered such delicious recipes from the hands of celebrity chef, Aldo Zilli.

All the recipes on offer are from those in the Angry Birds cookbook and of course, the main ingredient is an egg or two or three. The recipes range across several meals including, breakfast, lunch, and a main meal, and in addition desserts and drinks. While the Bad Piggies cook-up a meal – there are other great features in the book with a short picture story gloriously illustrated on each page as well as fun and games for both adult and children. There are sketches for the children to be artistic and a few spare pages to make those essential notes.

In addition to the cookbook, Rovio announced the release of the Angry Birds Doodle books available in ‘Big Red’ or ‘Big Green’. The books allow your child to doodle and use their imagination to be creative and artistic.

The event was well organised with everyone made comfortable with a play area for the children and activity desks and Doodle books. It did not take long for some of the older children to get stuck in.
