Android Users at Risk of Malware Attack

The warnings and risks of having an open system seems to be coming to fruition for millions of Android users who may be  the latest victims of a Malware attack.

It seems that 13 applications for three developers are behind the latest security threat.  Risks include data collection and performing tasks without the user knowing.  Apparently the apps have been available for over a month with some of them on the Android Market.  An estimated 5 million users could have installed the apps in question.  The developers in question are iApps7, Ogre Games and redmicapps and are suspected to exist for the sole purpose of distributing malware to Android users.  The list of problem apps include:

  • Counter Elite Force
  • Counter Strike Ground Force
  • CounterStrike Hit Enemy
  • Heart Live Wallpaper
  • Hit Counter Terrorist
  • Stripper Touch girl
  • Balloon Game
  • Deal & Be Millionaire
  • Wild Man
  • Pretty women lingerie puzzle
  • Sexy Girls Photo Game
  • Sexy Girls Puzzle
  • Sexy Women Puzzle
Hopefully Google addresses this issue quickly, but if you have any of these apps, make sure to get rid of them immediately.
