Samsungs S Pen may make its way to Galaxy Tabs

The S-Pen, first introduced on Samsung’s tab-phone (or phablet, if you’d prefer) the Galaxy Note, is likely here to stay after all.

A Samsung Product Marketing Manager has revealed that the S-Pen will show it’s face on a wider range of screen sizes (read, Galaxy Tabs) in near future. “I think a pen interface continues to make a lot of sense across a number of screen sizes, like the larger is more obvious of those.”, he was quoted saying.

If Samsung does put the S-Pen on larger Galaxy Tabs, and push the S-Pen API (which allows development of 3rd party Apps which utilize the pen’s features like pressure-sensitivity) adequately, the package would make some sense after all. If premium developers like Adobe and Autodesk would develop capable design applications on Android (Autodesk already has a fairly capable one called Sketchbook Mobile), the setup can strike a chord with novice designers who’d much rather go with a Galaxy Tab rather than a full-fledged (and costly) tablet-digitizer from the likes of Wacom.
