Apple Only Willing to License Out Its Lower Level Patents

In the latest shots being fired in Apple and Samsung’s courtroom drama, the iPhone maker has stated it owns a “thicket of patents” but is only willing to license “lower level patents” to competing companies.

This was revealed from a document filed by Apple in Australian court.  They go further by stating that they are prepared to allow device makers who use Android the ability to license “some lower level patents” , but that they want to keep most of it’s inventions to it’s own line of products.

Apple has had success so far in it’s battle with Samsung preventing the sale of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia and in Germany.  We continue to give you a blow by blow account of the fight and it drags on.
