In the battle between iPhone and Android, one man is a guaranteed winner – Terry Guo. Guo’s company Foxconn makes parts for both. However, all is not well at Foxconn. As Guo tries to ramp up production, he’s been hit with labor shortages and higher wage demands. With a spate of suicides bringing bad publicity, perhaps Guo decided humans are more trouble than they’re worth. He recently announced Foxconn will add 1 million robots in the next 3 years, freeing up workers for higher-value tasks. However, many worry that the robots will actually compete with workers, driving down wages even further.
