Nokia has cut the prices of its smart phones in Europe, Reuters reports Tuesday citing two industry sources. The steepest cuts of around 15% have been on models including include the N8, the multimedia phone C7 and the E6 targeted at business users, Reuters reports, while other price cuts were smaller.
“Price changes are part of our normal, ongoing business and from time to time we may adjust prices for specific products in specific locations. All business as usual,” Nokia spokesman James Etheridge told Dow Jones Newswires.
The Finnish company has been struggling to maintain market share in the highly competitive smart phone market, where it competes with Apple Inc.’s iPhone and handsets running on Google Inc.’s Android platform.
