NFC (Near Field Communication) is the connection of two devices, similar to wifi and bluetooth. NFC uses technology that requires the two devices attempting communication are situated literally next to one another. The cross-platform application and UI framework Qt has just got is importance in an all new level now that it’s been used successfully under Android OS. This means good news for Android users that will be able to use Qt based apps but also Symbian, Maemo and Meego that will probably see more developers embrace this new platform.
In fact, for developers, Qt can be the solution to develop apps that can reach a wider range of users across OS’s, including the 2 principal OS currently on the market: Android and Symbian. The tests made also demonstrate that Qt apps not only run under different phones and OS but also run on Tablets with different resolutions.
Gameloft is launching a new game called Fast Five, a racing game that follows the movie storyline and promises a lot of action. The game will be availabe for iPhone, iPad and Android phones on the 28th April.
Live from CTIA 2011: PhoneArena presents a video demonstration of the Google Nexus S 4G. The Google Nexus S 4G is the is the WiMAX capable brother of the Google Nexus S. It is not a great leap forward in the same way that the original Nexus was but rather is more like a refreshed version of the Samsung Galaxy S. It runs Google’s new version of Android OS Gingerbread and it is powered by 1GHz processor. Other features include a 4-inch Super AMOLED Contour Display, which is slightly curved, 5MP camera, Near Field Communication (NFC), Wi-Fi and more.
