Nokia N8 Application: Shoppinglist
This is a Shoppinglist application for the Nokia N8 that allows the user to manage his/her shopping lists in an orderly manner. The application logic and interface are sustained by JavaScript? and QML. The functionality is pretty straightforward: one can add/delete a shopping list, add/remove and check/uncheck items in the list. Two measurement systems are available to choose from in the Settings screen. Each list is identified by a short description, while each item in a list consists of a name, quantity and measuring unit. A sample list and several list items are pre-included to allow the user to get familiar with the functionality right away.

74% of mobile Internet users in Pakistan go for Symbian handsets

Nokia is by far the market leader in terms of mobile handsets being used to access the Internet in Pakistan. Of an estimated 5 million mobile customers using GPRS/EDGE services in Pakistan, a sizeable 74% use phones based on the Finnish company’s Symbian operating system, according to Website analytics firm StatCounter, news service Pro Pakistani reported last week.

The fine folks at icrossing.co.uk put together some interesting data for the Global mobile OS market share. In February 2011 Apple is the No1 smartphone maker in US with 35% market share followed by BlackBerry with 28% market share and Android with 27% market share. At the same time, Nokia is No1 in Brazil with 47% market share with Samsung at the second place with 21% market share. Nokia owns the Chinese market too, with 59% market share with Apple following with a mere 11% market share. In the United Kindom Apple rules with 42% market share and RIM’s BlackBerry follows with 36% market share. As you can tell, the global smartphone market map is a very interesting and dynamic place. Fun to watch, full of surprises and winners no one really talks about these days.
