Amnesia Connect

Following months of research and development, Amnesia Razorfish has replaced the typical ‘send and receive’ interface with a more natural ‘gesture-based’ interface. A smartphone owner can now move their content freely between two devices by simply dragging content off their phone onto a Microsoft Surface Table and back onto another device instantly. Amnesia Connect works with all Apple IOS devices and is being further developed to work seamlessly with Android, Windows Phone and Blackberry Smartphones.

Nokia, the world’s largest cellphone maker,  posted today a smaller-than-expected decline in fourth-quarter net profit as strong sales in the key end-year holiday period boosted earnings, but the company said it faces competitive challenges. Net profit for the three months to Dec. 31 was EUR745 million, down from EUR948 million a year earlier but ahead of analysts’ expectations for EUR526 million.

Analysts had expected a sharp fall in net profit as intense competition at both the premium end and low end of the handset market pressured margins at its mobile device business.

The folks at Engadget reviews the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play aka the Sony Ericsson Playstation phone. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play has a high-end specs with the use of Qualcomm’s second generation MSM8655 1GHz Snapdragon chip. The phone will be equipped with 512MB of RAM and 1GB of ROM on board as well as a landscape sliding PlayStation controller. A microSD slot will replace the use of a Memory Stick slot and the screen is expected to range from 3.7 to 4.1 inches. The Sony Ericsson PlayStation phone will introduce the Sony Marketplace where users can buy games made for the new Gingerbread OS.
