nokia n8

The guys at Pocketnow unboxes the Nokia N8 and also takes a look at the N8 hardware. The Nokia N8 is the new flagship phone from Nokia which comes to set new standards for performance and functionality. This is a touchscreen phone with a huge display of 3,5″ which features multi-touch input, proximity and accelerometer sensor plus scratch resistant surface. Regarding the technical part, Nokia installed on this model all the best available, the phone supports all the 3G frequencies, and the highest speeds, the Bluetooth module is also the new v3.0 with A2DP, Wi-Fi, GPS without questions, Digital Compass, voice commands etc. All this on the recently developed OS, Symbian ^3 and powered by an ARM 11 680 MHz processor plus 3D Graphics HW accelerator, that’s something new for the great majority of phones! What is also really special – that’s the 12Mp camera with Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, xenon flash, ND filter, geo-tagging, face and smile detection. This camera is capable of 720p video which further more can be played on your TV directly from the phone via the HMDI slot. Nokia N8 performs 180% faster than the previous Nokia N97 (ex-Nokia flagship).

The Nokia N8 has been around for a while, but we heard it was pretty good, so we thought we should check it out. The N8 comes in a fairly large square blue box. There are reflective foil highlight outlines of the device embossed on the box cover and inner layer. Opening the flip-top box reveals the gorgeous Nokia N8 smartphone, and beneath a plastic molded holder are a bunch of extras. You’ve got an AC Charger, nice headphones with hardware control buttons and microphone, MicroUSB cable, MicroUSB to female USB adapter, and MiniHDMI to full HDMI adapter. That last one is really nice to include since most other phones with HDMI out require you to buy a separate adapter.
