Dell Streak 7

Dell Streak 7 will feature a compact (for a tablet) 7-inch Gorilla Glass touchscreen and will have Nvidia’s Tegra 2 chipset. Unfortunately, this device will be running the good old Android 2.2 Froyo treatment. The Dell Streak 7 will run on T-Mo’s HSPA+ network, capable of reaching theoretical peaks of 21 Mbps.

Skype to acquire Qik for $150 MillionInternet phone giant Skype has acquired Qik, the service that lets you stream video from your smartphone, for around $100 million.  According to the company blog, it started the year with 600,000 users and ended with 5 million. The huge bump came in large part thanks to partners like Sprint, T-Mobile, Nokia, and Samsung.

DROID BIONIC

Aaron from Phonedog and the folks at Phonearena takes a first hands-on look at the Motorola DROID Bionic, the next Android phone in Verizon’s “DROID” lineup. It’s a high-end, feature packed device, with a 1 GHz Tegra 2 dual-core processor, 4G LTE connectivity, 4.3-inch display, Android 2.2, 8-megapixel camera, and front-facing camera. It’s one of many next-generation Android devices that have been (or will be) announced this week. Motorola says the DROID Bionic will be available in the second quarter of 2011, so be on the lookout for a launch in March.
