As you know, lately a lot of rumors regarding the issuance of Nokia’s smartphone operating system Windows Phone 7. However, there is no official information on whether the Finnish manufacturer to use the operating system from Microsoft in their devices or not. Controll your iRobot with Cellbots for Android (Nexus S demo)

Heres a overview of the Cellbots for Android open source Java application. It can drive four robot platforms: iRobot Create, LEGO MINDSTORMS, VEX Pro, and custom Arduino cellbots. This video shows the four mode of using an Android phone to be the brain of a robot or drive it like a remote control. The phones used are a Nexus One and Nexus S, but any Android 2.2 (Froyo) and up phone should work. This video demonstrates QML based QuickFlickr i.e. Flickr client running on Symbian device (Nokia N8). What you see on the video is not the final product and it lacks many features, graphics and it still has several bugs.

Current set of features:

  • Authentication with Flickr (doesn’t work on symbian device due the QtWebKit problem with developer packages)
  • Latest uploads from contacts,
  • Photostreams of your contacts and your own photostream
  • Photo details (favorite,views, comments, add comments, description, etc)

Zoom out from upper left corner. Search apps using find symbol in upper left corner in zoom out mode. Move an icon by holding it for 2 seconds. Rename a page by holding the title for 2 seconds. Exit or update the Grid via offscr logo in the lower right corner.
