Nokia, the world’s biggest cellphone maker by volume, said on Tuesday it planned to cut about 800 jobs in its home Finnish market. The company said in a statement it concluded negotiations with employee representatives on the planned reductions, which it plans to start putting into effect in January. Nokia plans to offer severance packages worth 5-15 months of regular salary but hopes some of the employees affected will be relocated elsewhere in the company, it said. Nokia announced 1,800 job cuts worldwide in October.
