The Nokia X6 just got a new firmware version (v21.2.005). This software release comes with a new version of Nokia Messaging.In addition, this release brings general performance improvements to the camera, and to the SIM lock feature when national roaming mode is activated. To get this software through your device, type in *#0000# on the home screen or go to Device Manager. Select Options > Check for updates and follow the on-screen prompts. Alternatively, this software release is available through the Nokia Software Updater.

The global applications market has surged by more than £1.4bn to £2.5bn in the first half of this year, according to new figures. Mobile application download numbers reached a total of 3.8 billion in only six months, compared with 3.1 billion in 2009, according to the figures from Research2guidance.
