The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pro is very similar to the Xperia X10 mini, but differentiates thanks to its slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Other than that, it has a 2.55″ screen, the UX interface on top of Android 1.6 and other cool software features, typical of the OS.

The YouTube user zedomax got Ubuntu running on his Nexus One (Android device). The display is running off vncserver locally to Android VNC app while the Ubuntu core runs chrooted off Android OS.  This setup is great since you can run both Android and Ubuntu at the same time while being able to use your phone fully as a phone and also the Ubuntu fully as sub-OS and the graphical GUI.

The Ubuntu is Ubuntu ARM-port which runs on pretty much any ARM-based smartphones including the Nexus One, HTC Evo 4G, Droid X, and more but you will need a “rooted” phone to do this!

New app for Nokia devices was introduced earlier today by Nokia Beta Labs called “Nokia Mobile Communities“. Nokia Mobile Communities provides a unique way to connect with people by creating private and public communities. Private communities, called Conversations, help you connect with friends, families and coworkers. Public communities, called Streams, allow you to follow people and topics that matter to you.

During this beta trial, the service is only available to users in India. While the app will work on all Nokia devices that support Java, they optimized the application for S40 phones with 240×320 screen resolution. Keeping the Indian context in mind, presently SMS is the bearer of communication for the service to reduce cost to the user. A simple-SMS interface is also supported, especially for non-Nokia devices.
