Spotify for Symbian devices got updated today and the new updated version brings a number of the great social and local file features to Nokia, Sony Ericsson or Samsung compatible phone.

The additions include:

• Support for playing and wirelessly synchronizing local files to your phone
• The Inbox and Starred features have been added

Apple and Samsung Electronics are engaged in a war of words over displays used in their newest smartphones, with the two sides claiming superiority. Apple CEO Steve Jobs challenged display king Samsung on Monday, touting the “Retina display” used in Apple’s latest iPhone, and supposedly made by Samsung’s archrival LG Display, at its developers’ conference. Jobs said the Retina display is much better than the AMOLED display, which is used in Samsung’s newly-launched Galaxy S smartphone, citing its higher resolution.

Handset vendors Nokia Corp. and Sony Ericsson will continue to feel the pressure from U.S. rival Apple Inc. in the high-end smartphone market through the launch of the iPhone 4 mobile device, industry watchers said Tuesday.

Apple Monday announced the latest version of its high-end handset, which will be available in key markets during the summer. The new phone includes a number of upgrades compared to predecessor iPhone 3GS, including a better camera, sharper display and more powerful battery.

Heres another video preview of the newly announced iPhone 4. The iPhone 4 is drastically different than the iPhone 3G or 3GS. To start, it has an all new design features a sheet of glass on the front as well as the rear. Having glass on the rear means that it is scratch resistant. The edges are aluminum and act as the antenna for the WiFi, Bluetooth, and cellular radios. The iPhone 4 is the thinnest smartphone available at 9.3mm, but is a bit heavier than the iPhone 3GS.
