Apple sold 600,000 iPhone 4s in one day on Tuesday, beating its previous record. Ordering websites crashed in both the UK and the US as the device went on sale. When the iPhone 3GS went on sale last year, one million were sold in its first three days but it debuted in eight countries, and the iPhone 4 has gone on sale in five.
