Smartphone VP? Is this who will apologise for ripping us all off with the piece of shit that is the N97?
Haha nobody will ever apologize for the N97 fiasco.
Listening to Nokia execs talking about “the future of Nokia” is such a strange experience. Their gestures and voice tones indicate an excitement used usually for new technology announcements … yet the actual technology that they will reveal in 1-2 years time already exists TODAY by other manufacturers! Nokia seems to have completely lost the ability to LEAD the market … they’re scrambling to play catch-up, and and just relying on their reputation to carry them until they do.
Invest a billion dollars (I know you have it) in developing a true tactile-feedback touchscreen (e.g. onscreen touch elements would slightly raise up from the screen when needed), and then you’ll see people get excited. But don’t pretend that adding cool cover art interaction to a music player will get us all riled up.
After N97, my next phone will never ever be a Nokia again!
They are far behind from great innovations but they still lead in market sales. This makes them confident enough that the level of innovation they bring is good enough as their market comes from their low to mid range phones. I would love to see Nokia releasing the first s^3 device and for it to fail in sales so that nokia would bring something really new. S^3 or s^4? Make s^10 now! lol
well im happy with my 5800 xm..im cooking my own firmware..adding laguages that i can speak…so im really lookin forward for S^3 or MeeGO to be released….
and hopefully the S^3 would be Editable!
