  1. NO VIDEO CALLING…. whats the point of this release? :-(
Oh well.. back to lousy Fring!!

  2. Does not work on my Nokia 5800 v40 software, it gets to “Signing In” and then shuts down.

I have rebooted the phone but no luck, but just seen there is no video calling above anyway so its pointless really anyway

  3. Above comments are stupid, “no point”. It is great to use voice much better than fring and the texting option saves me a fortune when i working in other countries. Video will be a nice to have but the best part about Skype is free calls and cheap texts!

  4. Glad the app is now available.
and can the guys making the comments above stop moaning and be greatful, yoy are not even paying for the app. if u wanted video, why not create the app yourself

    stay safe all

  5. @novak84 I like Skype in theory but they keep releasing dumbed down versions. Take this release, all it will do it calls perhaps texts i dont know as It work work on my 5800.

However with Fring/Nimbuzz I can do video calls and IM chat with friends across many different networks GTalk/Yahoo/MSN etc, with Skype it Skype or nothing.

If im abroad I use Wifi zones which are free in most places and i use an API on my phone with connects me to my Vodafone Webtext account and i can use my free quota for texts, 300 a month.

For calls I can use Fring as my VOIP and for IM I use Nimbuzz as i prefer it to Fring.

So to me and probably a lot of others Skype is pointless, but likewise for many its useful.

I hope skype for S60 5th is developed and at a greater speed that this latest release but for now ill be skipping it.

  6. @spac Its not moaning, if an app is released and for some doesn’t work what would you do. If the app is crippled and can only do some things and their are other apps doing what it cant, why use this.

Nobody is moaning per say, just trying to highlight that after all this time coming all thats happed is that the Beta sticker has been removed and it now works ‘ish’ on touch S60, thats it.

  7. I think its great, i have it on my 5530, and it works perfect.
For my its usefull when i am in a other country, then can i make my cheap phonecalls to my hometown.
    Greetings to you all

  8. colm i understand ur view.
am using n97 on tmobile, and obviously tmobile uk is blocking all voip apps
so no nimbuzz or fring works on my device unless am using wifi. i know it sucks, but then.
so its great news that skype is here, lets hold on and see if useless tmobile uk will block this off too

  9. no good fer satio (u1)

  10. It is not working on Nokia 5800 v40,
it gets to “Signing In” and then shuts down.

Does anyone have the same problem.

Remember that it is 5800 v40.

  11. Installed fine on my 5530XM, but haven’t had to actually use it yet.

  12. Works for my 5800 v40 =)
Havent tried using its functions yet =)

  13. Works on my Nokia 5800 v40.

  14. Usless for me.. Skype should release this app long time ago.and no video support ?
Everything skype does, nimbuzz does even more.chat, send files, voice ip on yahoo google talk skype well, you all know…so why would i bother to install it when i already have all in one ?
I am waiting for a usefull app for long time.(like an online radio for example) so far only crap apps iphone like…

  15. its doesnt work on my n97. Once i press accept the connection and it shut down,,,anyone have solution?:(

  16. Erin on n97 choose internet as your default connection.
mine has been online for the past 2 days and working smooth
    thx
