The Nokia E72 firmware got updated to V023.002. You can download the new firmware from Nokia PC Suite (NSU), but before you update dont forget to backup your important data. Note that it may take some time before the new firmware is available in your country. The changelog is still unknown.

why there isnt a 5800 RM-428 v40 update? I’ve been waiting for a month for it and still not here!
The backup part might not be mandatory anymore BUT it’s good to be done just in case. When I upgraded my N82 to the last fw version, it automatically created a backup and restored it after the upgrade was finished.
update available now in the Philippines thru NSU. When will it be available OTA??? Any changelogs for those who updated their E72???
USA doesn’t have it yet, says 22.007 is newest available
update 023.002 already available in Malaysia, I have already update the software version…so far, so good…just my 2 cents….(“,)
@brinz: any new features, bugfixes that you can mention?
i dont seem to spot anything new in this firmware update, besides this ugly new purple theme; still no podcasting app…
@helsie : for the new features, like tony said, they just add new purple theme, for the bugfixes but still looking into it, so far, i detect bug on the multimedia, whenever u try to search music using keyboard, its exit automatically.
new firmware fixed now working long press for new contact..
Do not upload this new FW if you listen to AAC and m4a files on the music player. The music player stops playing these files after the new FW is uploaded. It is very frustrating and Nokia when contacted has no clue how to deal with it.
The problem with AAC & m4a files is also present on v22.007 so what you’re saying is there’s no point in upgrading..

Thne new version 23.002 It’s not available in Italy, yet.
I just bought my E72 few days ago but I failed to update the firmware through NSU . The Updater will show that it lost connection with my E72 and then shut down my E72 . After that I can’t switch on my E72 anymore unless take out battery and re-install it again .
Anybody have solution ?

A warm thank you goes out to all Asians here for telling us the fw update is available in their country. However, nobody cares beyond what was mentioned in post #3. Critical to me is if the mail for exchange client that is pre-installed in the fw and cannot be updated got updated. Can anybody verify if the issue discussed here http://bit.ly/axVlJ3 was addressed in this update? (using Google sync to retreive your email with Mail for exchange w/o receiving errors)
