BT and 02 Consolidate their Mobile Relationship

A five year consolidation of BT Wholesale and o2 was announced today. The multi-million pound agreement will see BT consolidate o2′s mobile network into one, using BT’s (21CN) 21st Century Network platform.
This will deepen the relationship already existing between the two companies providing o2 thenext generation communication services to meet customer needs alonside reducing its capital expenditure.
Head of Networks, Telefonica o2 UK Ltd, Nigel Purdy said: “As we move to an all IP world and as data traffic volumes increase… BT Wholesale continues to impress o2 with its ability to deliver highly complex solutions. It is a trusted partner and we value its experience in managed services.”

They’ve gone full circle. For what it’s worth BT blows big time, they are well behind the curve with it’s cup and string network.
