I mean seriously, have you ever seen someone listening music while writing a document? or downloading music while you’re watching a video. Everyone known it’s so much fun looking that downloading bar to finish. Multitask is a joke. PCs, Macs, REGULAR Cellphones are very very inefficient for including a multitask feature. blech.

It is quiet amazing that some people has missed the point with the iPad so completely.
It does not replace the netbook and it is not a big iPod touch. It is something new. I guess that is why so many people cannot figure it out cause there has been nothing like it before. It is a paradigm shift around how we will consume media and use personal computers. It is not what you see now that is the thing but rather the possibilities that it will lead to. HP, Acer, Google, Nokia, MS and all the others will have to follow and that is going to change things in ways most people can’t imagine cause they are stuck in the past on how to do things.

Free your mind and use your fantasy and creativity rather then bitch about things that you do not yet understand. It is more fun that way

Everyone will buy it just because it looks nice. Period. Then they will all cry when v2 gets released. Meanwhile, some clever guy will find a way to mod the software so it CAN multitask.

Nobody can deny that the UI on this device looks quite amazing, however, for me personally, it’s shortcomings outweigh any positive reasons to buy this device.

The lack of multitasking is a huge letdown for this device. It’s hardware is more than capable of performing more than one task at once. Nobody’s just going to sit there using this as an oversized iPod. We want to be able to browse the web whilst listening to music!

No expandable memory ports is another huge letdown. As usual abiding by the Apple lock-in. If you want more memory, buy a higher capacity device! A maximum of 64GB is sub-par for a device of this calibre, especially when videos come into play. This device is supposed to be capable of “the best quality video experience”, so give us the bloody capacity to realise that!

No HDMI Out? Well, this probably goes against the point of this device, but if it’s going to be used to “real work”, then it would come in handy. I suppose Apple has a way of connecting this to a wireless projector, but still, it would have been nice to have HDMI.

No camera(s)? C’mon. Like no one would have wanted to do any sort of video conferencing on this device. Yet again, Apple knows what everyone wants. We just don’t know it.

No Flash? Nuff said.

Wireless N is a nice feature, however, due to the nature of this device (flash memory) I really cannot see how this device will utilise Wireless N to it’s full potential on a transfer speed scale. This point is more nit picking, but I have to be that way about Apple, seeing as everyone who buys their cool looking toys thinks they’re gods.

It’s a “rough around the edges” gadget, however I’m sure it’ll pave the way for many more tablets from other manufacturers. I just hate it how every other manufacturer seems to perceive Apple as some sort of benchmark, thus wait for them to release something before releasing their own.

for as far as I know, the american market is really restricted in terms of really smart phones. As you probably know, the Nokia market out there is very small and, since they have almost nothing to compare the iPad to and since it’s made by an american company, they buy it. If you don’t know there is something better, you cannot buy it. I don’t think americans are stupid ,as someone said before and it’s really rude to consider someone stupid since NO one is perfect. I think they are just misinformed or not informed at all about other products. I wouldn’t buy an iPad or an iPhone, because I consider them too dumb for my taste, but I would buy an Apple computer/laptop(I think they are great) or and iPod for listening to music if they wouldn’t be so damn expensive!

Now, regarding the iPad, it looks cool, it feels nice, the response of the touchscreen is great, the quality of the touchscreen is great, the video quality is great (and, probably the audio too) BUT, since it cannot do a lot of my desired things (and I’m not asking for too much), it just doesn’t worth the asked price! I’m not paying $500 on a complete toy!

well, i think that this is a case of iProduct. Apple lauches an overpriced and undercapacited product in US and everyone buys because it is an Apple product and having Apple products is cool.

About the tablet, I think it is a very creative concept, it has an enourmous potential, but happens that Apple managed to misthink the point of a touch screen tablet. The most important thing about it that I can think is Multitasking capabilities, once it is lacking, the product is senseless. I am keeping my Netbook for the next few years…
