Opera Mobile 10 beta 2 released

Opera has released the Opera Mobile 10 Beta 2 web browser for Symbian and Windoes Mobile devices. To download Opera Mobile 10 beta 2 directly to your phone simply visit m.opera.com/mobile using your phone’s default Web browser. You can also download the app from our forum (Symbian version only)

Symbian Users: Opera Mobile beta 2 works on Nokia “E” and “N” series phones, as well as Samsung, and Sony Ericsson smartphones running Symbian S60, 5th edition & 3rd edition FP1 and FP2.

Windows Mobile Users: Opera Mobile beta 2 does not support non-touchscreen devices running Windows Mobile 6 Standard, nor Windows Mobile 5 for Smartphone; for these devices, they recommend Opera Mini.

samsung i8910 hd

The Samsung i8910 HD has recieved a new firmware update and the new firmware brings a few new functions to the phone. To update your firmware us the PC suit application that was included with the phone or download it from Samsung Mobile.  Don’t forget to backup your data before updating your phone to the new firmware.

Opera Mini stats November 2009   41.7 million users   18.8 billion pages viewed

Opera has published the November statistics for  Opera mini, one of the worlds most popular mobile web browser. The number of Opera Mini users more than doubled — from about 16.4 million in November 2008 to 41.7 million in November 2009. This increase shows that their prediction of accelerated growth of the mobile Web has come true.  More stats after the break…

UK Next in the iPhone Price War?

Following a court order Apple ends its exclusivity  of the iPhone at the behest of  Bouygues Telecom.  The iPhone is now being offered by Orange and is soon to arrive on SFR prompting a price war.

The strangle-hold held by o2 in the UK as sole iPhone seller has been released.  The  iPhone is now available on Orange. Vodafone is to offer it on 14 January 2010 with Tesco bring up the rear.  Are we to see a price war in the UK or are the British people too laid-back to muster up the energy to spend more money so soon after Christmas?
