The Spotify application for Symbian has been update and fixed with a number of issues with the initial release and added support for some new models.
This release includes:
- A fix for disappearing offline tracks.
- A fix for the problem when adding tracks to existing playlists on touch screens.
- Text input of special characters now added, e.g. Norwegian and French.
- Text input on special types of keyboards now added, e.g. non-touch phones with dual keyboards.
- New devices supported include the Nokia E72, Nokia N82, Nokia 6110 Navigator, Nokia 6210, Navigator,Nokia 6290, Nokia N79.

Mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson plans to cut around 450 jobs at its site in Lund, Sweden, as part of a plan launched in April to reduce global headcount by around 2,000 by mid-2010.
Around 200 consultants will also leave the company, press spokesman Aldo Liguori told Dow Jones Newswires Wednesday. Staff at the Lund site were informed at an internal meeting Tuesday, Liguori said, and will now be given formal notice.

The iPhone has been the device of choice for nearly half of the Indaba Music employees. Meanwhile, unwilling to switch mobile carriers to get an iPhone, the other half of the Indaba Music team waited for a comparable phone to be available through their service. On November 6th, Motorola Droid arrived and was immediately procured by many others of the Indaba Music team. The staff gathered, comparing and contrasting it to the iPhone. Sides were taken. To settle the ongoing (and seemed like never-ending) interoffice smack talk, they put it to their community of 325,000. To participate members were to create an original ringtone using (or covering) at least one audio sample from their chosen phone’s audio files. O2 UK on Tuesday announced it has successfully carried out a live 3G Long Term Evolution (LTE) trial, using equipment supplied by China’s Huawei. During the trial at its U.K. headquarters in Slough, the mobile operator recorded a peak downlink speed of 150 Mbps.
