When the Tube(nokia 5800) get the “real” firmware.i think nokia has forgot that nokia 5800 is the first symbian V5….when the the Tube geting more attention…(sorry about my bad english)…i’ve been frustating waiting the Tube get some kinetic scrolling…

We are waiting for 5800′s update nokia. What can I say lucky N97 users but still nokia is losing the war of smartphones (Buggy buggy N97). With there current strategy they are going to loose all of there loyal fans eventually.

Hello. I am a satisfied Nokia N97 mini customer. I really love it. But nothing is perfect, so i would like to see:

- Turn off the keyboard light when wathcing movies or everything else (when is opened, I love the angle of display)

- Remove the Download icon (we have Ovi store)

- I would really love to see albums in movies (i am watching movies and want to see them in special map or album).

- Photos are really important to me. I love organizing them too. It would be awesome to see that maps of pictures are automaticaly shown as albums (like on Windows). I have more than 1000 photos and now its difficult to organize them by albums (if you copy map from vacataion it would be seen as albium vacation when you open the photo gallery.).

- Connection is also sometimes a problem. When I am at home, I think it is much better when it automaticlly connects to Wifi without asking.

- Nokia Mail is slow and really strange Improve it.

- Display rotation should rotate on every side (like on iphone), not just two

Like Puji harianto and tipu2185, i’m also waiting for a new FW for ‘the tube’…
I love the phone but it can be improved much with a few little changes..
like the theme effects (smoother) or , like NikMan said, an easier wa to organise picture and playlist in the music player..

i just brought back my 5800 to the store a few days ago.. had some problems with the shortcut bar, contact bar and didn’t knew my lock code (altough i nerver changed it…)

it’s nice to hear that the n97 has a FW update, and as the 5800 is ‘close’ to the n97, maybe there will be a fw update for us to..
(WITH KINETIC SCROLLING PLEASE! if someone from nokia reads this… you never know )

Oh great, another chance to disappoint us. i hope at least the nokia tune bug be fixed, because, a solution with the ram managing problem is a huge mirage…

As a 5800 user, again.. where’s our firmware??!

I do hope that we can also get this firmware since n97 and 5800 has almost no difference in terms of hardware. But this is wishful thinking..

With so many people buying 5800 compared to n97, they really should cater to the 5800 users first.

I really am losing faith in Nokia because of this.

what is that nokia tune bug? i never heard of it

Bart, you can set any music as your ringtone and it doesn’t matter, because sometimes (frequentely) it rings with the nokia tune instead your music. it’s a famous bug, ask to google, you’ll see. it’s annoying thing, because with the time you just give up to set a ringtone, cause you don’t have the chance to get used with the sound of it.

well its new yrs eve and still nuthing… even though its a minor fw upgrade i would love to see some improvement. i ringtone bug isnt my major concern but wat i really want is for the default programs to be activated to all apps not just the nokia default apps othwise its useless. my n97 came with 150megs of ram so im not worried bout that either i usually stay within 50% of my usage and can run up to 4 apps at once, depending on the apps ofcourse. and wat i really want is for the helloOX crew to hack this version

today i talked to a guy from nokia about the 5800
He says, they are working on a FW update WICH enables kinetic scrolling!

He didn’t say when it will be realeased but he said in a couple of weeks.
So there is still some hope for us, the tube-users

Btw, how is it with the n97 update? is it already done?

Did they say that only kinetic scrolling was added? How about the homescreen?

If the firmware ever comes great. If not.. well, I am disappointed with Nokia anyway.

I’m looking for topics about NOKIA N97 v2.1 and i stumbled to this. I thought it’s all about the upcoming firmware for N97 “ONLY”. sheeeesh…why wont some people “try” to stick with the topic. we people are interested with the upcoming firmware and we got your point. so please, again, stick to the topic and stop with the 5800 firmware. no offense but this is what i think.

By the way, is the new firmware available or is it still ‘coming soon’ ?

Nokia N97 is great but according to me its application should have ability to customize it ,http://www.fixpod.com.au
