Today I received an email about Nokia’s latest flagship music device, the Nokia X6. This phone was announced at Nokia World in September and has since been anticipated. The 3.2inch touchscreen phone is Nokia’s first phone to feature a Capacitive touchscreen which basically means it won’t use a stylus and it reacts to the small electrical charge in your fingers. The ultimate music device comes loaded with 32GB of memory, so plenty for all your tracks. The Nokia X6 will be exclusively available at Phones4U in the UK this Friday (24th November 2009).
The social media device has a 16:9 widescreen which has been optimised for photos, videos and web browsing. The homescreen also features 20 of your friends to build a community around your X6. If you’re snap happy, you will also enjoy the 5 megapixel camera that has a Carl Zeiss Lens.
Contracts and Price
An important part of your purchase is making sure you get the best possible deal. The Nokia X6 will only be available with a subscription to Nokia’s Comes with Music service so therefore the price may just jump a little, after all, it is their flagship music device. If you want to avoid a contract all together because you already have one, then the sim-free version can be pre-ordered via the Nokia Shop online right now for £449. Wow, that’s quite expensive and I also can’t seem to find it on the Nokia UK Store at the minute…
The phone will be available exclusively to Orange through Phones4U for £35/month. If you have an old N Series device lying around, then you can use that to trade-in for a reduced rate of £25/month. Don’t forget, this contract will give you access to over 6 million music tracks to download at your fingertips. Are you purchasing the Nokia X6?

not getting the X6, im going for the N900
wow… of course cuz u already have 5800 lol. if u take diz device there just get capacitive, 5mpx camera and enhanced s60v5.
Thought i’d warm up to the design of this phone, but it’s just not that appealing at all.
32gb is nice, but £449? Thats a rip-off.
On the other hand, if it had maemo and more screen less bezel i’d be all over it.
Is there really a use for the capacitive like in the iphones? Can the standard image gallery recognize multi touch in X6?
If only N900 had MMS and a camera like Satio’s I’d probably be eager to buy it..
It’s a 5800XM with 5mp camera, enhanced homescreen, kinetic scrolling and 32Gb internal mass storage, IMO doesn’t worth the price, nothing really new on it.
£449 sim-free was the thing that stood out to me. Seriously Nokia, you’re venturing into Apple prices here for hardware that does not look as pretty.
@nangusa
Tthat’s the biggest contradiction I’ve seen in a while.. Congrats
Who is contradicting what? I haven’t contradicted anything.
@Nick:
Contradiction??? If you want to pay the price tag for a minimal better camera then go and buy it. The homescreen is different but nothing to do with similar priced phones like Samsung, hardware the same, and the SAME S60v5 as 5800XM, very aged to actual standards.
So, where is the innovation on X6 against 5800XM which is worth the price?? Tell me one and I’ll buy one for me and another for you.
Honestly why would anyone get any other nokia right now when the n900 is out?
guys help !
Is the X6’s touchscreen responsive as that of the iphone ??? :S
Just wondering
Same processor, same Ram and that same old buggy Symbian OS, I’d surely pass.. and to be much more clear thate freaking S60V5 isn’t even touch friendly either.. If it had maemo i’d say yes but NO
I will buy. Faster ship to singapore. I can get at less than 200SGD. LOL
Listen, the Maemo costs only $540, same price as the N97 and its about 10x better than the N97. If anyone of you guys get the X6 or N97 over the Maemo then you don’t know phones.
The Phone is Expensive? = Not getting it anymore.. -_-”
Did you realize “X6 will only be available with a subscription to Nokia’s Comes with Music service”
Which means you can dowload all of the 6m+ songs in Nokia Music Store during the year of subscription for “free”…listen them from your PC and Phone. It is included in the price of the phone.
