The folks at Skype demoes the Skype client on the Nokia N900.
The Nokia N900 has Skype built-in – it’s totally integrated into the phone’s Maemo operating system, with no extra downloads required. You can make free Skype-to-Skype calls and IM on 3G or WiFi, and call phones abroad at great, low rates. Mark Douglas, the product manager for the N900 at Skype, reveals all in the video after below

Am I imagining things, or was Skype supposed to become integrated into S60 as well???
Anyway, nice vid. Finally a presenter who knows how to knows how to use the N900, not some iPhone-user bimbos…

i dont think they “promised” that skype should be integrated in S60. I think they only said that they will release an app.
Prior to release Nokia marketed the N97 with integrated Skype, five months on they still haven’t delivered on their promise. At least I now know why, it looks like the developers that should have been doing the work on the Skype integration for the N97 have actually been working on the integration for the N900.
Thanks Nokia, another reason why I won’t be purchasing another handset from a company that falsely advertises their products, releases them in a beta state, and has let production quality go down the drain (self harming camera lens, poorly designed GPS antennae, & problematic touch screen)
Frustrated and fed up N97 owner.
