Nokia N97 software update 2.0 (version number 20.0.019, 20.1.021 and 20.2.019 depending on your region) is now available through the Nokia Software Updater. The software update will make your N97 perform even better, through numerous fixes, improvements, new features and new functions.

The new QWERTY handset with touchscreen runs Maemo 5 is great in terms of mobile Internet, cellular connectivity, and entertainment features. The device has 32 GB of storage that can be expanded up to 48 GB. Maemo allows more multitasking because it has strong ties with desktop platforms. The hardware and software constituents of Nokia N900 cell phone include an ARM Cortex-A8 processor, OpenGL ES 2.0, up to 1 GB of application memory, 10/2 HSPA and WLAN, 5 MP camera with tag cloud user interface and Carl Zeiss optics.
Nokia today announced the Nokia 6788, its first device for TD-SCDMA – China’s domestic 3G standard, at an event in Beijing. The Nokia 6788 is the result of close collaboration between Nokia and the world’s largest mobile phone operator, China Mobile.
Speaking at the event, said Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, CEO of Nokia: “Nokia sees TD-SCDMA as being central to the successful evolution of 3G in China, and so is fully committed to this 3G standard. With a wide range of integrated China Mobile applications, the Nokia 6788 marks a new level of collaboration with China Mobile and offers enriched experiences to China’s 3G users. Nokia plans to introduce more TD-SCDMA phones in the near future, further boosting the development of this 3G standard in China.”
Nokia’s Jucu Factory in Romania has been chosen as one of the world’s leading green buildings by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The prestigious Gold Rating for Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) is the first for a building in Romania, and recognizes the major investment in innovative environmental features made by Nokia.since its construction in 2007.
SAP, Nokia and Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) today have announced plans to form a new company, named “Original1,” to deliver unique product authentication and anti-counterfeiting services across the globe. These services will be aimed at protecting companies and consumers in a wide range of industries from product piracy and counterfeiting, thereby maintaining brand values, revenue potentials and profitability of branded goods. Original1 will be headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany, and headed by Claudia Alsdorf, currently vice president of SAP Research. The new company is expected to begin operations before the end of 2009, subject to the approval of the responsible anti-trust authorities. The announcement was made at SAP® TechEd 2009, being held October 27-29 in Vienna, Austria.
