Ovi maps suck worse than tornado season in a trailer park. I tried to use it a couple of days ago on my 5800 and it just kept crashing, the time before that it also failed. I’d like to put the person responsible for it in the desert, then see if they could use Ovi to navigate to safety before the vultures moved in to pick them off.
I am surprised that you had such a negative experience. I myself have never had any problems with it on my N82. It is in fact a wonderful application….
Same here – i use every day and it works without any problems at all. I even got to work on my new Satio
Might be that Ovi Maps doesn’t just work perfectly every where.
Thank Satan, it works where I live
If Nokia n97 integrated GPS worked like it should, or 5800XM… than i would be able to get to the good things… but since the antenna sucks, i don’t even manage to fix a lock for more than 2 mins while driving… I wish i could get good locks be4 good things…
It seems @Skullet either doesn’t know how to use ovi maps or his phone is so screwed up with other corrupted files (probably from other apps) that its crashing.
@Nelson,
2 mins is not a bad time, considering its a cell phone and has an internal antenna.
Just turn on the GPS on your phone little bit earlier before hitting the road.
For me personally, its not a huge turn off. Its better to have an internal gps, unlike iphone, where you need data plan.
