Ovi Contacts updated for Nokia 5800 XpressMusic

The Ovi Contacts for Nokia 5800 got updated to version v.1.20.11. This software version enhances the existing functionality and adds new attractive features to Ovi Contacts. The friend request popup has been enhanced to include also the full name and profile picture of the person sending an invite. To get this software through your device, select Applications > SW update.

This update completely broke this app on my 5800xm, firmware 21.2.025, RM-428. The app won’t even start up now!
I did have the same problem but now Ovi Contacts works whitout any problems.
Do this:
- Uninstall the application
- Re-install then the latest version,
That should help. It seems that the latest version is not 100% compatible with data files created by the old version.
You might need to rs-boot your phone too.
That did the trick – reinstalling, that is. I uninstalled, visited the betalabs site, downloaded the latest, rebooted and no-go. Visited app update again, 1.2 update available, installed it, rebooted and it was fine.
What a pain!
I am now updating my phone to it hope it works good…
