Instrusion Alert as The New York Times causes RoadBlock iPhone Ads
Posted by: dani2xll in iPhone, iPhone Apps

iPhone applications have had a limited amount of advertising as the App Store has grown, expanded and ballooned over recent months. Throwing down the gauntlet to other mobile apps, The New York Times app, since last weekend has stopped you in your tracks with roadblock interactive ads. The new advertisements starting with the first advert for visa, followed swiftly by the ad for the water company. The ads are initiated using the same interactive format employed by Medialets, a quote from Medialets website ”we’re the rich media advertising and analytics platform for mobile”. However, irritating and instrusive it is, it can be said that with the iPhone and the RoadBlock you do have a captive audience. Time will tell whether this new type of advertising ‘takes off’ and whether Apple reacts or intervenes in this type of advertisements.
