According to guardian.no, Nokia is going to develop a mobile that runs on Android OS. I wonder how this will affect the Symbian Foundation and the S60-series.
Nokia is understood to be developing a mobile phone that runs on Google’s Android software platform in a strategic U-turn for the world’s largest mobile phone manufacturer.The new touchscreen device will be unveiled at the Nokia World conference in September, say industry insiders, as the Finnish handset giant tries to revive its fortunes in the smartphone market
But according to Stefan over at intomobile (that should have more inside info from Nokia than most of us) says that this is just “fake rumors”. And i agree with Stefan. It is very unlikely that Nokia will develop a Android mobile phone anytime soon. Nokia has just spent to much money on Symbian.
