Nokia to convert iTunes files

Nokia is understood to have developed software that will convert music taken from iTunes into a Nokia friendly format. The software acts as a spider on a PC, searching and identifying all types of music including tracks downloaded from Apple’s iTunes store, and then converting the tracks into formats suitable for Nokia handsets.

It is hoped the software will address one of the main objections to consumers taking Nokia’s Comes With Music handset range. Retailers have said many people are not interested in Nokia’s service because they already have an iTunes account.

Nokia N97 Review

My buddy Norman over at SymbianWorld has written a review of his Nokia N97. Head over to his blog to read the review

The Nokia N97 combines everything in a more or less compact formfactor. It’s a internet tablet, a camera, a mp3 player and a social media tool. However, neither of this things it can do perfect. Well, there are better camera phones available and the iPhone has a better browser but the N97 is a masterpiece in terms of convergence. If you need a device that solves all task the N97 will suite you. However, there are also devices such as the I8910 and the Sony Ericsson Satio which are worth taking a look. In my opinion the Nokia N97 is, despite its price of 600€, the device of the year.

Our forum member damuffinman created this great rail service timetable widget for the S60v5 phones ( Nokia 5800 and N97) that i wanted to share with you guys. Download the free widget from here

Hi everyone, I’m an amateur S60 developer and this is one of my first widgets. It’s a national rail service timetable widget for all the Brits here using this forum and I’m looking for some feedback. Anyone up for this task? Its coded for the S60 v5 platform in mind so if you’re using a S60 v3 device the widget layout should end up looking quite screwed up. A S60v3 version is in the works.
