Nokia 5800 Theme – Aristocrat red indigo by XOKNQJPosted by: Phat^Trance in Nokia, Nokia S60v5 ThemesNokia 5800 Theme – Aristocrat red indigo by XOKNQJ. This “girly” theme works with Nokia 5800, N97 and the Samsung Omnia HD. Download the theme from our forum [Thx pece1976] The Nokia N85 gets cloned once again! You can find the specifications after the break. Enjoy the pictures. Noah checks out the Nokia E63, an unlocked GSM smartphone that’s the E71′s little brother. E63 keeps the S60 platform, great QWERTY board, and 3G/WiFI connectivity that E71 has, but drops the HSDPA and GPS, and trades a metal body for plastic in order to cut costs. At $250 street price, E63 looks like a lot of phone for the money.
Carbon Diem is an app that uses the mobile phone as sensor to process “on device” and directly empower and personalise the environmental debate. Automatically able to detect train, car, subway, tram, walking and even planes, it shows the carbon offset according to the user’s behavior. It only asks for user input when cycling and running. We use the pattern of a users movement as described by the GPS and apply algorithms to automate a travel diary. Most important is to apply a software solution, using existing technologies to deliver a scalable solution of global proportions. We measure, compare and inspire a environmental revolution. Climate Change is a global concern, something the mobile industry is very well placed to potentially positively influence. Source: nokiadevforum
Believe it or not but the BlackBerry Curve sold more devices than the iPhone 3G in U.S alone during the first quarter of 2009. If the numbers by NPD Group on Monday are correct, RIM’s BlackBerry Curve tops the list of the best-selling consumer smartphones in the united states for Q1 2009 with iPhone 3G following in the second place. BlackBerry Storm, BlackBerry Pearl and T-Mobile G1 rank third, forth and fifth. Curve found itself on the top due to Verizon’s aggressive sales promo, “buy one, get one free”. Needless to mention that Apple is not really into promoting iPhone 3G rather, the Cupertino brains are doing their best to get rid of the remaining stock no matter what. [via]

Believe it or not there is a metal detector Android app out there taking advantage of G1 hardware. The G1 uses a magnetometer for its compass function on Google maps. Now if you attended school back in those physics 101 days you should know that magnets and metals are into a big love fest when they happen to be very close. Now, don’t expect to find any gold coins at your backyard but keep bugging your iPhone 3G buddies. Demonstration video after the break. Read More »
