This is a wild guess based on the “evidence” available, but according to rumors Nokia Ivalo is supposed to make an appearance on the video below. Take it with a grain of salt but Ivalo is rumored to be the N97′s successor even before the flagship Nseries device hits the shops.

The technology GSMArena thinks there is in the leaked prototype in the video, is available right here, right now. Name it Ivalo with a 3.5-inch touchscreen, A-GPS, FM transceiver, 5-megapixel camera “and other smartphone goodies”. Is this for real? We don’t know. Is there a possibility for a new high end Nokia device with the aforementioned specs and Maemo 5 linux? We think so.

Head to Wired to read the full story and more on Nokia’s leaked “Mini Computer” Smartphone Plans.

Maemo 5 Beta SDK is out

You may ask yourself what Maemo 5 news has to do in a mobile blog but bear with me. The new Maemo 5 Beta SDK is out along with all sort of manual and developer guidelines for building widgets and stuff. The new Maemo 5 operating system adds support for OMAP3 CPUs, HSPA data connectivity (3.5G networks that is), High definition camera support and hardware-based graphics acceleration. If you’re still following, Nokia once announced that it’s bringing Linux to its new high end models some time in the future. Not any kind of linux but their own flavor of Linux.

Maemo and Maemo 5 is built with support from Nokia. Older, Maemo versions named OS2008 are powering devices such as Nokia N800 and N810. Now with cellular network support, faster processors and HD camera support, Maemo 5 looks very tempting as a replacement OS on a high end Nokia device. Oh, don’t let me started with widgets, Ovi store and how beautifully all these fit with the N97 multimedia computer concept, Nokia pushes so hard.

Samsung i7500 video in the wild, sort of

It doesn’t make sense, it really doesn’t make sense to post a Samsung i7500 video on YouTube and mark it private. Samsung’s first ever Android phone it’s hotter than hot with quad band GSM, HSDPA at 7.2Mbps, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth 2.0, 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and 8GB of onboard. Still, those guys need to change their minds and make that video public again before early June when the i7500 is hitting the road. Let’s just hope, engadget works out something. Just in case things change, the Samsung i7500 video is after the jump. Read More »
