Time runs backwards for the launch of HTC Magic in UK but even though the date is set to soon, thriving is the next big thing with a little bit of Android magic and sales of “a true entertainment and media powerhouse”, according to the company. The Qualcomm MSM7201a CPU is running at 528MHz under the 3.2-inch touch screen (320×480 HVGA), driving all the silicon found inside the Magic.

That said, Android is handling all quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and HSDPA/WCDMA load for making calls and surf the web in 3.5G data plan flavor when WiFi 802.11 b/g is not available. Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, GPS, G-sensor (accelerometer) and digital compass take care all the music and Google maps needs when the microSD memory card is not filled with pictures from the 3.2 megapixel color camera with auto focus.
HTC claims Magic’s talk time up to 7.5 hours (GSM) and standby time 420 hours (GSM) with a Lithium-ion battery 1340mAh battery. The above are subject to network and phone usage and for us to test with Android Cupcake installed on HTC Magic. Soon, very soon.
