With the BlackBerry Bold and Curve 8900 available to GSM carriers, it’s once again sad to see CDMA BlackBerry users trail behind in terms of getting new stuff (the exception in North America of course being the BlackBerry Storm). When the BlackBerry 9630 gets released, CDMA carriers will finally have a compelling device to call their own.
Nokia 5730 XpressMusic hands on video by SymbianFrance. The Nokia 5730 is going to work on Symbian S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2, it will have a 2.4-inch display with QVGA resolution, a 3.2-megapixel camera with a LED flash and Carl Zeiss lens, a 3.5mm jack, a built-in GPS, Wi-Fi and microSD card slot.
Nokia will remove the restrictions on music downloads in the coming months. The manufacturer does not currently allow tracks bought from its music store to be transferred between handsets, frustrating users who upgrade their phones.The removal of Digital Rights Management (DRM) has been secured after negotiations with record labels.
Adam Mirabella, director of global digital music retail for Nokia, said to Channel News Asia: ‘We have dialogues going with all of our partners and DRM-free is also on the roadmap for the future integration of Comes With Music.’ The news follows Vodafone’s recent announcement that its users can now download DRM-free tracks from its music service.
There is a new firmware update for the North American version of the Nokia 5800 available at NSU. The new firmware version is v20.2.014 and the most important improvement is that the 3G reception problem have been fixed.
