Symbian S60v3 Tip: How to remove menu icon on Nokia N95 with firmware v30.0.015 Symbian S60v3 Tip: How to remove menu icon on Nokia N95 with firmware v30.0.015

Before / After

Finally its possible to remove that annoying menu icon that makes the default menu icons smaller on the new firmware for Nokia N95 v30.0.015. Words cannot describe how glad i am to get rid of that annoying menu icon :)

Use this mod at your own risk!

You may damage your phone!

There are two ways to remove the menu icon. The simplest way is to download this file, sign it and just install it and it will do the job for you. I haven’t tested this application so im not sure how it will work!

The second way is for hacked phones. Download this text file and copy it  to C:\private\10202be9 folder (using a file explorer like X-Plore) and reboot your phone!

Thats it!! no more annying menu icon! :D

Ps: The wallpaper can be downloaded from here

Thx to p@sco for this mod

    6. Im using an un-hacked n95 8gb (v30.0.015). I managed to open sign the first app.

To get it working you need to open this app from your menu, press the menu button again, press ‘options’, then ‘exit’ to force the menu to quit.

Then hold down the menu button to switch back to the ‘removeicon’ app, then click ‘options’, then ‘message’, then ‘back’, then ‘exit’.

When you open the menu again, the menu icon will be removed.

    8. Yep it works just fine without complications on my N95 8GB v20.0.016 firmware. Thank goodness… menu screen is all better. Whom ever developed this one deserves some great reward! Finally, something a firmware update should have done! Good looking out!

    9. After I installed the application and it fixed the menus, I uninstalled it and later the next day, the menu icon came back mysteriously.
So I’m thinking that it’s because I have an older firmware version the fix doesn’t stay fixed.
So now I reinstalled the application and will leave it on the phone to see what happens.
It’s still nice to have that menu icon gone! Fight the power! Ra Ra!

the thing with that mod is that it resets itself after you reboot the phone, sometime it stays and sometimes youll need to do i all over again :)

    16. João! Your trick worked perfectly, no need to install any application! It’s the same procedure if you want to get the menu icon back! But I prefer without the icon, hehe.
