[...] DailyMobile, a swedish blog, has managed to get their hands on some screen shots of the device in action, and they would seem to indicate that waiting for this device, delayed or not, is certainly wothwhile. The screenshot from youtube being displayed on Opera Mobile look desktop-like, and the flash client is clearly built-in. The media application and juke box look just as polished as that on the PS3, and the screenshot of the panels also demonstrate a number of other stylish applications that, in the end, will only be available on the Xperia. [...] The photo above is actually part of the Sony Ericsson X1 Xperia’s user interface, and as you can see, it is pretty comprehensive unlike other non-iPhone mobile browsers. It would be interesting to see where that handset stacks up in the pecking order when it is finally released. Image courtesy of Dailymobile.se. [...]

Have a look at the screenshot of my 5 year old Toshiba e800 VGA Screen with Windows Mobile 2003 SE and Opera Mobile 8.65.
Just from the screenshot you could not say if youtube works correctly. Here it gets a paused every 5 seconds before continuing while it fills the IE-Cache in RAM with megabites of until there is no space left.
To be honest I really look after the X1 to become the successor to me current pda and phone. But is this normal, that we have to get new hardware to run the latest flash videos? I also heard that Microsoft plans to get flv running in its next pockt IE. But will it install in Win Mobile 6.1 or will we have to wait for Win Mobile 7? For my old device there is no solution left. Neither Opera Mobile 9.5 nor Skyfire will run on my Win Mobile 2003 Device
Hey which one is better? SE X1 or HTC Touch Pro with the Video-Out-Connector? My Eyes are getting tired reading small letters (I’m getting 42 this year). How about the HTC Advantage 7510 then? Bigger Screen?
Don’t forget, when you look at the screenshot of the x1 above, that the real screen is about halft the size (3 inch or so). My Toshiba e800 has a 4 inch display.
Greetings from Switzerland, Christian.
With the Xperia you get the 800 x 480 display and the Panels interface for adding widgets.
With the HTC Touch Pro you get 640 x 480, Touch Flo 3D and video out.
I like the possibility of building custom Panels for the Xperia. However, the video out on the HTC Touch Pro is very cool.

Thank you. I did not know about the widgets. In your comparison there may be added, that the touch pro does not seem to have full flash support (according to the reviews I read), even if the browser seems to be the same. But as I stated in my previous post, I’m not sure if thex1 has flash support. Because a screenshot like that can be done with devices without flash support (click the title of this post).
PS: You have a cool website!
